Rule of thumb for Remington 700 action torque values.
Wood stock - 45 in. lbs. Wood stock w/ aluminum pillars - 65 in. lbs. synthetic stock w/ aluminum pillars or aluminum bed block - 65 in. lbs.
Any particular sequence?

The torque requirements are not determined by the action but by the stock. Most over-torque their rifles to the extent they damage their guard screws. Rhetorical question i know but how much can one "compress" an aluminum or steel pillar with a screwdriver? As an average, I would go with what Dennis says.

I usually do both at 45 whether wood or synthetic but I will try 45 front and 30 rear just to test the accuracy.
