I may be totally confused, so bear with me. I think there was a gun shop near or in Pittsburgh, PA in the 1950s and 1960s that built guns using Douglas barrels and they marked them Ace. If my memory is correct, they are good quality Douglas barrels.

Sbrmike, I'd assume flintlocke is talking about the barrel maker in Washington state.
I have one on a 22 rimfire and it's great. I plan to use one of their 6mm barrels on my next rebarrel. I've heard nothing but good things

What’s wrong with Shilen? Are you looking to save a dollar? There is always a new kid on the block. Some of those new Kids can find a spot in the market. Let us know your findings in the event of a “New Kid” barrel maker.

Ace barrels is what Vudoo Gun Works uses on their rifles unless you specify something different. I have no complaints with mine.FWIW.

What’s wrong with Shilen? Are you looking to save a dollar? There is always a new kid on the block. Some of those new Kids can find a spot in the market. Let us know your findings in the event of a “New Kid” barrel maker. Shilen is OK, I've got two that are OK, yawn... but they are button rifled...without starting a screaming hair pulling match I prefer cut rifled barrels...Ace doesn't seem to be new, one site says they started in 2000. They quoted the barrel I wanted at 365 plus shipping, so they are not a bargain basement. VuDoo and Bugholes use their barrels for what it's worth.
