What's the heaviest bullet you've tried in that 1 in 12 twist?

Interesting question.
The short answer is the 55-grain Ballistic Tip.
At the time I had the rebarrel job done I had thought I might want to shoot heavier bullets one day, but I hadn't yet noticed the availability of 70-grain Accubonds (like that matters anymore anyway---good luck getting hold of those these days). I'd have ordered 1:10 had I known. I never thought to try the 70-grain ABs when I still had a bunch on hand, but now I wish I had just so I'd know. I think they may have been okay in the 1:12, seeing as how I could probably have driven them pretty darned fast. I'll never know, though because I sold all those bullets off when I decided I wouldn't be hunting hogs with .223/5.56 anyway.
I'm confident the rifle would shoot 60-grain bullets just fine. I think 65s would be a very safe bet, but 70s might be pushing it a bit but I am JUST GUESSING, though. I honestly don't know. According to QuickLOAD, 3600 fps with a 70-grain should be quite doable with this rifle. You would get about 210,000 RPM at only 3500 fps, so I think there's a good chance the rifle can stabilize a 70-grain bullet quite well.
Sorry I cannot give a better informed opinion about the rifle's capabilities.
