Pistol brace back to okay or not? Member of GOA if it matters. Lost track. FJB



Basic flat top AR15 and railed handgurd. Currently has a Eotech 512 without riser. I'd like to add a swing away 3x magnifyer without guessing. What's known to work?

Alternately, could do this with an Aimpoint carbine optic. Trying to utilize sights on hand, go beyond 1X, not buy more chit.

Tough to keep up, but I believe braces are ok for the moment.

PSA is currently selling pistols and pistol lowers with braces on them.

I bought this magnifier from my friend to go with my E0 517. It was sitting low and that's exactly how he ran it. Put it on mine and wanted it centered so I looked through the bag of hardware he gave me and there was a riser that came along with it, about .280" tall. Installed and it's perfectly centered.

As far as the brace I believe it's legal now.

That oughta be a clue. Nobody’s going to volunteer for special Federal “attention” just to make some sales. The Feds are patiently waiting to pounce if the courts end up ruling in their favor.

Yes, braces currently OK.

SCOTUS already heard the Bumpstock ban case and the Frame and Receiver rule case was granted Cert. Both will further impact this issue.

Watched another video last night with another guy using a Unity QD riser. Only caveat for you is both guys had EXPS sights, not your earlier 512. May not matter.

I have a 552.A65 myself, but am not looking to use it with a magnifier.

"May not matter." That's the question. I really have no idea the various heights in their line. Someday, I may have to dig into it, even call Eotech. My attention - limited of span - shifted and I'm all bound up thinking about motorcycles now! LOL Thanks for post, I'll take a look at the video. Happy shooting.
