Over the years Jim has done a lot of excellent work for me ranging from installing side swing safeties, to building a complete custom including a stock from a blank, to completely modifying a Whitworth .375 H&H into a beautiful rifle that was exactly what I wanted. His work is of the highest quality, done quickly, and at fair prices.
I’m 82 and thought my days of having gun work done were behind me. But I decided I wanted to have a J. C. Higgins rebarreled. I was pleased to learn that Jim was still working. I used to live in Minnesota about a 40 minute drive from his shop. Now I live in Colorado so I needed to ship the rifle to him. He received it on March 25 and ordered the Shilen barrel. Last Tuesday, April 23, he let me know the barrel was arriving that day. By the end of the day he had the barrel chambered and installed, and the barreled action was curing in the glass skim bed I requested. He shipped the rifle Wednesday and I received it in great shape today. Of course I am a very happy camper!

Offhand I remember you bored out the tight chokes on my dad’s old “farmer’s double barrel” so I could hunt pheasants with it, and cured a feeding issue on a Winchester Model 70.

I thought that was you... LOL Yeah, you were a pleasure to have in the shop back then.. Glad to hear you're still using these fine firearms.. Best wishes WA...
