I have posted both of these before:
Homer High School, upper lot. Woman pulls in and parks in the only available spot next to the building, close to the door. There were 10-15 empty spots on the other side- a 40 foot walk. It was so tight between cars she could not get out here door, so she unrolled the window and climbed out that way.
She was going to an exercise class.
I pulled into Huffman Rd Carrs in Anchorage, on the way back from Interior, in my 3500 crew cab with camper on it, towing an 18 foot riverboat. I parked as far out as I could, crossways to the hatch marks because of my length, and parallel to the curb. The back of the boat was just inside the driving lane out there, with about a dozen empty spaces immediately in front of me. Wife went into the store, I stayed.
BMW with CA plates pulls in to the stall immediaetly in front of me, so close that the woman passenger had trouble squeezing out her door.
All told,a there were probably 150 empty slots in the lot, or more.
As the couple walked away (both dressed head to foot in white) I rolled down the window and called "Nice Parking!" The guy looked at me and threw up his hands, but I know he really meant both middle fingers. I had to back up some, to clear his car exiit my parking space(s).
I've never been so tempted to key a car.....
Have you ever noticed how , once in the store, most peoples' walking speed is reduced to about .25MPH, especially if 2 or 3 gals are walking abreast. The fatter the slower., of course.
