Loaded up some 265 Swift Aframes 21 N110 for 1200 fps I was hesitant to do these, thinking the velocity would be too slow, until I saw that 1200 is what the Swift factory load was advertised as.

I would proceed with caution with that load. Swift Manual No. 2 doesn't list any loads for the 45 Colt. Take this for what it's worth. From QL Cartridge : .45 Colt (SAAMI)
Bullet : .452, 265, Swift A-F/HP
Useable Case Capaci: 23.992 grain H2O = 1.558 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 1.580 inch = 40.13 mm
Barrel Length : 7.5 inch = 190.5 mm
Powder : Vihtavuori N110 *C
Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 2.0% of nominal charge.
CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads !

One thing I didn't point out, QL is not great with straight walled cartridges, but it should raise a second thought just the same.

It is giving me 1200 out of a 5.5 inch barrel which looks like the 25k psi range.

Standard pressure loads are 14k for 1873s and other vintage designs and repros.
Pretty much all the major players (Lyman, HDY, Speer, etc) also list higher pressure data for 45 Colt that ranges from 20-30k, though for stronger, modern guns.

Very good. When I think of 45 colt I think of 1873 Colts, not Ruger Blackhawks or T/C. When I think of Blackhawks, I think of 44 mag, 454 Casull.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be hanging onto, or anywhere near a Peacemaker with loads that stiff ☠️

It is a Ruger Blackhawk.
This load isn't even that stiff.
I found 325 grain and 340 grain at 1200 using N110, Now those I dont need.
Do the quickload with a Jacketed 265 in the 44 mag with N110. Be curios to see what it shows for that.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be hanging onto, or anywhere near a Peacemaker with loads that stiff ☠️ Elmer Keith's early experiments come to mind.

21 behind a 265 in a 44 is near maximum.
45 colt with the same load should be slightly less pressure and velocity.

Perfect!
Ive loaded for 45 Colt and 454 Casull for decades. I load probably 10 different bullets lead and jacketed in those calibers for different applications.
I hunt elk more than any other big game animal, they live on my property and I see them most every day. For your intended use that bullet would be my first choice. Back when you could get Partitions in .452 I liked them also.
Please keep us posted if your successful!
Regards, Manny
