Maybe because American manufacturing jobs and customer service will stay in America.

What was the change for RCBS's customers when Vista bought them?

I had no idea Vista owned them to begin with.

Vista was a split off from ATK who bought RCBS in 2001.

Nope, sorry ... it may be too late. My good friend was product development engineer for them, full career. About '75 Fred sold to Omark, they had some quality control problems, but they made them good. Blount bought Omark around '85 I think...and from that point a slow erosion of 'USA made' began in earnest. ATK bought them around 2000, and Vista bought them around 2015. Each change brought more offshore production. I can't say some RCBS products are or are not Chinese made...nobody knows. State of Calif has a law that a company must divulge country of origin on it's products sold here. Last I checked, RCBS was not in compliance, but there has been no enforcement.
The last project Duane saw to fruition was the Partner press, which was US made. He doubts their advertising that 97% of their products are US made. There are loopholes in the COO laws that allow a percentage of foreign made products assembled and sold here to bear a Made in USA label.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Hodgdon can't even keep their powders on the shelf, WTF are they doing buying another company when they can't take care of the one they have. Great, now we'll have to suffer shortages of reloading equipment, too......
