Snowing at upper levels around 7800'

Northern Utah getting brunt of storms...

I'm much more south

My buddy in SLC sent me a vid today of heavy snow. Valley snow once in May is common per his experience.

Spring in Oregon bear country runs the gamut depending on elevation.

Those tables were clear and the two snow mobiles buried to the left were on bare asphalt yesterday morning.

We were in Utah this past week. Monday, we left from Bryce Canyon to go see The Arches. Crossing the mountain, we met trucks salting and plowing snow. I couldn’t explain to my wife beforehand the difference elevation makes in weather. She gets it now! Southern Utah is a beautiful place.

Been snowing here, on and off, since yesterday afternoon. Nothing sticking except a dusting in some North facing areas this morning. Been stopped for a couple of hours now, but still no sun.

First day in probably 3 weeks/month we had the fire going all day yesterday, left coals for this morning, and started it back up and went all day again. Was 34F at 4 om at the airport in town, a few degrees warmer on my back porch.

Supposed to clear up and get down in the mid-twenties again this week. Prolly kill any peaches that may have set on the tree.

Our high country probably got hammered. 6300 feet or so on the pass is pretty white, even with the clear road from the warm weather recently. I bet the stuff above 8K' is buried again.

Snowed in the mountains just to the east of Boise, up around 6,000' and higher. Cold rain here in Boise. Glad I have good wool blankets. wink

You will be thankful for the snow in July and August when everything is on fire.

Hell, I'm kinda glad for it as it will help our aquifer, and the snow in the mountains will keep the rivers and streams flowing most of the summer and refill the springs.

it ain't helping my garden and fruit trees right now though.

Two inches of snow last night above Nevada City, Cal, 3100 ft. Will delay the onset of fire season a few weeks, good thing. Made for a great burn day today. Got rid of a lot of slash and all the cutoffs and trim from the mill.

Heck, I wasn't there, but my kid showed me pictures of snow in front of Raley's in Auburn. I'm a good 500' higher, towards GV and didn't see a lick of snow..
