Nice. Is that authentic imitation jigged bone? grin

Seriously, though, I'm not seeing the authorized Boy Scout insignia on that knife.

I just walked away.

Clean it up and gut a deer or two with it. I still prefer the classics.

Seems strong Hawk. For a user, no sheath. Plenty of $25 knives that will gut a deer. Boulder Co. Western or Camillus Western? Huge price difference right there.

Bottom line, if you are happy.

If I want it, I buy it. I’m not living in the 60’s. I won’t be around in another 30 years, hoping for another twenty at least. If I want it, I buy it, good on you Hawk. Keep that economy churning, you can’t take it with you.

I have a friend who bids on guns but quits at $300, let’s just say he doesn’t get anything worthwhile. It’s not like he doesn’t have the coin, he just thinks it’s 1964.

I got a pair of like-new Justin sea turtle boots and a pair of Tony lama anteater off eBay and paid less than 200 for each pair. I sold them a few years ago because I hardly ever used them and got over a thousand for each pair.

Make an offer if they suggest it. Got 12 volt refrigerators that way. Good product newer brand. Specs indicated quality

I have that same knife. Put new scales on a few years ago. It never served a useful purpose I can remember but is a good size and shape.

Way back when, I couldn’t afford a Bulova, so I bought a Caravelle Sea Hunter, new, for $49
Look today, they are being sold on EBay from $350-$600, depending g on condition
Unreal, if I wasn’t attached to mine owning is for so long, I’d sell it!

Cool, but do you realize that the one I bought was made by the only maker of fixed blade knives (Western of Colorado, defunct as an actual company as of 1984) authorized by the Boy Scouts of America to have their logo engraved on the blade tang, and that this is one of those? Camillus (also now defunct) served that role for Boy Scout multitool folding knives.

Cheap foreign imports really wrought havoc on traditional American knife companies.

Similar thing happened to me on a recent Case knife purchase. It really pays to give a low ball offer. Some people just want to move their stuff.

Had one just like it in the ‘60’s……lost it! Still bothers me today. memtb

I've got a collection of nearly 100 old American made knives. Most from companies no longer in business and many of them gone long ago. No boy scout Westerns but I do have cub scout and boy scout versions of Camillus folders with the insignias.

Exactly. I actually figured my offer would be ignored. Figured it was very unlikely it would be accepted.

TRH look up the word IRREGARDLESS?

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill.
