They are not far apart, you could easily make a day trip to Savanah from Charley town.

Stay on Tybee Island and come back into Savannah to see the sights.

Wear you sweating clothes! It’ll be like a week in a sauna, but you’ll still love it.

We go to Hilton Head a couple times each year. Usually hit Charleston on the way down or on the way back and hit Savannah in between. Charleston seems nicer/cleaner but we did a Savannah River cruise a few years ago that was just as enjoyable as the Charleston Harbor tours we have been on. Carriage rides in Charleston and ghost tours in Savannah can be entertaining as well.

I liked Charleston over Savannah by a margin. Either is fine but I'd go back to Charleston, once in Savannah was plenty.

NO contest. Charleston

And totally agree on Bowens Island for a meal. Casual dining and fantastic meals.

Charleston by far. Good 3 day weekend place. Open the pocket book, stay at the nice place.

I'll find my restaurant rec list and post. I'm a bit outdated though, been 5 years or so, since I've been.

I suggest skip staying in either. Stay in Beaufort, SC and then day trip to both. Beaufort itself is very nice and has a lot to offer in close and on the outskirts.

Interesting idea, was thinking Savannah since my Son is stationed there at Hunter, will be spending some time with him.
