What am I looking for?

The Ruger Mark IV is probably the easiest starting point.

I'll recommend the Ruger mark series as you can hold the bolt shut with your thumb.

Use the same pistol you already use, just get the threaded version. Plenty of good choices depending on your tastes. I'm using Ruger and Browning, with and without suppressors.

first ones you think of is the traditional rugers and Browning Buck marks...

but as of late for very dependable do not discount The Taurus TX22.. can we had in two different sizes for sure I think three.

I'm not a big fan of Contenders, so no bias.

But reading accuracy, trigger, sights & optic I thought of one with about a 6" barrel. Should be the quietest of all.

My favorite of the ones I have is a ruger 22/45 lite but any ruger mk series or browning buckmark that you like best would be a good choice

I use this Ruger which has a Volquartsen trigger. This is a cheap red dot, not too pretty, but it does work. I may upgrade to something better.

I keep this pistol in my deer hunting pack, shoot coons, etc, while on a deer stand. It's quiet enough that it doesn't seem to spook the deer.

Subsonic bullets not that deadly on coons, but it does kill them Often they drag off into the woods to die, which is OK, I don't have to mess with them.

It's also a good solution to an aggravating, barking squirrel.

Ruger is my choice. Also have the 6 7/8" Gov't Target Model threaded.

If I can ever afford to retire, for extra $$$, I thought becoming a hitman would be an interesting occupation. In that case, I'm getting a SIG P322. 20 rounds available, already comes suppressor ready and is small and concealable. And fairly good quality.

Now, that sounds almost professional.

I don’t know if it’s the very best but the Ruger MKIV 22/45 lite is tough to beat. (I let my daughter choose the color).

Balance is excellent, the sights are okay for what it is, 1913 rail for a dot, reliable, and easily upgraded trigger if you choose.

Like the looks of this set-up. Was it optics ready? Or modified for optics?

Are you buying subsonic rounds? Or are you counting on even hi-speed LR being subsonic from the handgun?

How much does the muffler on that Smith weigh?

I put a TK reddot base on (and other TK goodies). I run CCI sub segmented on trapped critters and whatever I have close, the rest of the time. sometimes I get a pop out of HV.... the can is a dead air mask, never weighed it but I'd bet specs are on their site.

No vocational aspirations, but I'm kinda in the camp of wanting the P322. Any word on function and reliability?
I canceled an order once on reports of initial production complications...
