Serial number is ST3465, never seen it on any site for ageing the model 63, what year did they do two letters, then a number?

Partsman,
Taking a stab at it here. Sounds to me like it is possibly a later made Japanese mfg. modern model 63,(174,692 app. mfg. 1933-1958).

I don't think it's an original model 63, unless it was fussed with somehow.

I would try to find out more information on the Winchester model 63 current production re made mode 63's made in Japan. Is there anything in the address on the barrel that might say Miroku Japan?

Taurus, of Brazil also made copies of the model 63.

Partsman,

After some searching, drinking my morning coffee, I did see a Miroku made 63 at Rock Island Auction, (May 2023), With an Angelo Bee engraved model 63 and that serial number started with "SP"! That would tell me that you had a more modern made model 63 made in Miroku, Japan. If you do your research on it you'll find several articles on different Forums where people like them and claim they shoot well.

Sounds Japanese to me. Not an original.

Yep, Japanese, reproduction.

Very nicely done though, but I would have thought they would put that info in the auction details.

But it is the same outfit that sold me the Ruger 77/22 not long ago, that turned out to be a 22 Hornet, so they don’t know their firearms.

Well the 63 is pretty accurate. Will be nice getting out farther with it.

Several people on other Forums claim that they not only like their model 63 but I did see, and I can't remember where, with the newer Miroku made model's that the interior parts were polishes a little better using up to date machinery compared to older machinery that left some machine marks on the inside of the parts that were not visible. If I didn't see this I wouldn't have admitted it. Now I'm also assuming the pictures were real and not doctored up at all. In today's world one can only assume. Being good shooters and with minimal problems mechanically I can't bash it until I have a viable reason.
