Got started this morning on a project the wife and I have wanted done for awhile now. There's about a 1 acre pasture on this place that's fenced 3 sides with sheep wire (field fence, 6x6 mesh, whatever the hell you call it in your area) but the back fence bordering the BLM land is just 4 strand barb wire. We've let the whippets run loose out there in the pasture a couple of times, but they always end up wanting to go through the barb wire, so I'm going to enclose that end too

What's out there now, it will not stop a whippet at full speed if it sees a rabbit or something out there and we don't need more vet bills



What I intend to put up on that end of the pasture. This roll was here when we moved in, I'll have to buy another 100' or so to finish it.



And I laid out the new fence 6' or so inside the BLM fence so there are no issues with who's land it's on (even though that barb wire fence was surveyed when they put it in). I'll put a 7' wide gate at each end so I can get a mower in there to keep the weeds down between the fences. The sagebrush growing on my side of the fence will be ripped out too.



Thought I'd get more done before lunch, had a friend supposed to come over to help (for pay, he's between jobs) but he never showed up. I texted him and found out he got held up. Has a teenage boy who was "acting suspicious" so he held off to deal with the kid. My fence will wait, kids are more important.

I've got the places for the posts all marked out, going to be 5 juniper posts with 3 t posts between each of them. T posts are laid out on the gorund where they'll go. Neighbor loaned me the post hammer, my friend will run that bastard! , I'm retired ya' know. Nothing fancy, just whippet proof for the most part. Then we can exercise these boys properly, maybe get Dandee up to 30MPH in those 100 yard races.

Justine and his buddies don't care what you paid. We've got his cousin Gavin here I think that is of the same mindset. f 'em both I say.

Bought another roll in 2023, for the garden - fuggin like $300 !!!!!!!

Yeah, I fugged up too. I should have bought it yesterday up in OR when I was up in the Big Town. Usually cheaper and no added "mordida" for Gavin and his cronies to spend unwisely.

I may just run what's there tomorrow, or whenever my friend's kid isn't acting up, and set the posts, then wait to get the wire when I go back up to OR again. Seems I'm up there every few weeks for a doctor appointment or something anyway.

Oh, a week or so back I checked the local Ace hardware for T posts......................................$10 each.

Yeah, I should have picked up a few more in OR too, as I think I'm two short for that project.
