Just that.
Any good? How's the battery last?
My folks have a Stihl gas trimmer that's pretty good. Sorta heavy and of course pull start.
I was wondering if the battery style is lighter?
Thanks friends.

Maybe the 40v stuff is good? I do know that the homeowner 18-20v stuff is a fuggin joke…. No power and short battery life.
Weed eater and the chainsaw are about the last 2 tools that I still think gas is best 🤷🏻♂️

Don't overlook what rewinding the spool amounts to; some are a real pos/pita.

If you have about 10 minutes of light weed eating, the 40 volt might be passable. Anything more than that requires gas. If you use non ethanol gas with your oil, it eliminates most problems with gas trimmers or other small engines.

I have the smaller Husquarvana, and I really don't like it. It does not have the power of my Husky gas.

I have a Dewalt bump model that works pretty good. Dealer gave me 10% off on the last one they had in stock from previous year, threw in an extra battery -the big ones-dunno the amps off hand -18 or 20? but they and the smaller bats are interchangeable on all my Dewalts- and also a easy to loadreload pkg of string.
Not much weed eating around home 20 minutes?) but at the rec cabin the two larger batteries will carried me for about an hour - sufficient to whack a 20-30 foot swath around the 20x22' building. Depending on how high the grass is at the time - last year it was knee high the only time I did it. Too rough for a mower, too. I'll get on it sooner this year and do it 2 or 3 times, maybe.
With 5 batteries total, 3 chargers, a generator or house current- no problem with running out of juice normally.
I'm happy with it. I'm not trying to do 5 acres of hay.....

Satan snuck small 2-stroke engines in when God was on a coffee break.

Just got this EGO 56 volt on sale from Lowe's and have been happy with it so far. Gets decent ratings. Plenty of power. Only thing I did was replace the line with a better grade of .095, works better. Has an interesting self winding feature. Push in 13' of new line equal sides, push a button on the head and it sucks it right up. https://www.lowes.com/pd/EGO-POWERL...ring-Trimmer-Battery-Included/5001957615

I’ve got a 40V Ryobi combination unit that works well. I can weedeat, edge, and blow my 1/3 acre yard on 1 battery if I don’t screw around with stuff. I have a lot of weedeating/edging to do as well with a pool, corner lot, flower beds, and fence.

They probably have two to 3 hours of trimming. They don't do it all at once though.
Hour and a half at a go I suppose.

Maybe do what I do with my e mower. Have a couple of charged batteries on hand.
First spring mow, I get one bag of clippings per battery. Wet, tall grass because ........Spring..........ya know. When I have time it rains, when I don't it dries out, so it gets taller than normal. Usually get about an hour out of 2-3 batteries depending.
Summer, I can usually do the "lawn" part of the yard with one battery .
Too much work around here for the little e trimmers we had for when the wife was in suburban places. I think they're older 18V deals. Work good for what they're designed for, but not for around this place except to sometimes use around the garden/flower beds in the small yard.
Never going back to gas for a "lawn" mower. To nice to just plug in a battery, no smell, no spill, no hearing protection, just mow.
Now, for the firebreaks and pasture, yeah I bought the neighbor's Husky riding mower when he moved as I will no longer be able to borrow it............dammit to hell.

My rancher/heavy construction buddy bought a Milwaukee for his wife for their yard. He said it’s just fine for light duty flower bed around the house grass type stuff. Anything more requires gas.

I have a couple of products from their line now; and I don’t miss the noise of my two-stroke Husqvarna.
