While I do suspect that Federal workers are overcompensated, accumulating a $3 million net worth by one’s late 50’s (estimated) on a low-mid level bureaucrat’s salary implies good money management. All the more so if one lacks people skills. Of course marrying well or inheriting wealth could change the calculus.

Money is the tool that allows that to happen and pay for things like the $1250 nr Montana bighorn tag I drew last week.
Pretty nice to fish Alaska for a week a year with my friends too, again not having to even think about the $$$ it takes is pretty sweet.
I also don't want my wife and I to work until we're 65 either. That absolutely will not happen, money is the tool to make sure it doesn't.
