Well I got a week off! And I headed out to the range today to shoot my new flintlock from Lyman, (50 Cal) I dragged tons of stuff with me, one of which was some 50 cal 332grain Maxi�s I cast. I tried a variety of bullets, Maxi, sabots, and ball/patch. All shot well.<P>I was mostly trying to figure out how much powder to put in pan, and learn not to fear the flash! More powder more flash, less powder less flash. I found it is true that the more powder the slower the ignition, but there is that point where it won't spark the main charge. Sooo, I found that thresh hold.<P>I managed to get 3 shots in one inch square at 50 yards, (peep sight) using my 332 gr Maxi and 80 gr of FFG powered by some 4F in the pan.<P>Since I�m off on Mon, off to the range again. I need to find a good combo for hog hunting as, a gentleman called me and said he spotted about a 350 pounder in the field, and wanted to know if I was interested� [Linked Image]<BR>
