This year I ditched the scope and did a peep/post setup on my Encore. I am really digging it and it points like a bird gun. So far I am happy with the groups. The gun never felt right with a scope and it bugged me. Anyone else goin scopeless?

What's a "scope"???
Nah, really, no scopes allowed in Warshington and Idaho.
I do have one on a 50 cal which I use during modern season in firearm restricted areas.

I've never scoped my muzzleloaders. Don't intend to. JMHO.

Never scoped a muzzleloader in my life. They look kinda dorky on a flintlock longrifle or a Jaeger.

No scope on my .54 Hawkins. Jeez, that'd be like putting 4 wheel drive under a Corvette.

Scopes on muzzle loaders are OK I guess, but dang, they are heavy! I prefer to do without.
I am..........disturbed.

Tang peeps and barrel sights on all my percussion BP rifles. I do have a scope on a T/C inline. though very accurate and deadly, I still dont like it though. Gunner

Gunner, that's a late 1800's vintage .56 caliber built by HV Perry. Shoots a 1,300 grain 2 piece swagged bullet over something around 200-250 grains of black. IIRC, it weighs about 47#. 18 grooves that look like ripples in a pond. Fine squirrel rifle I reckon. Not mine but wish it were. Picture below gives scale I guess. Rifle in the foreground is a 9# PA Reinhard picket rifle of .38 caliber.
