Yes because there is a way to do something and a way not to do something. If it was in violation because it was to close to the road or what ever then he could have knocked on the door and told the guy to move it or pulled it up and put it on his porch and left a note. He didn't have to be a prick about it. Thats something a young azz punk azz cop would do not a seasoned cop that cares about the citizens. JMO yours may differ.

I know several cops personally and they are good guys with common sence and nothing to prove but I know two that are complete azzholes that think they are right under the holy spirit in the chain of command. There is no reason to be like that. I give respect to those who disurve it not to those who demand it because they are entitled it.

Well then he got what he deserved. you gotta use common sence. if a cop tells you its against the law to have it in that location and you need to move it, then move it. But I would ask him what the law was listed under and look it up for myself.

I could never be a cop cause I couldn't write tickets for speeding unless they were being wreckless. And it would suck to catch criminals just to see them get slapped on the wrist and released. I tried to get on at the fire department but failed the civil service test by 1 question the average score is in the mid 40s. I'm 41 (40 at the time) and smoked the guys in there 20s on the physical test. I work for a living though. I think most of them still lived at home with mommy. What the morristown fire department has and is verified buy some of the guys there including most lieutenants and the chief are a bunch of collage pukes that don't have any common sence and can't put 2 sections of hose together. I'm gonna STFU now cause I'm ramblin and getting off subject. besides I'm runnin out of piss.

This is so stupid. Even if there was a legitimate reason to remove the sign, it's probably not his job. I say probably because I don't know how the law works there.

Around here, we most likely would never hear about this issue unless it turned into some kind of physical dispute or the neighbor called us instead of the city. In issues like this, we typically say it's between the land owner and the city. If it gets far enough, the courts can decide if they want to enforce some city code

This cop was either ordered to do it or thought he could end the issue by taking them down himself. Either way, probably not his job and definitely not smart
