This is Bryces third yr hunting and he keeps knocking them down. So far he has killed two spring turkeys a doe with the rifle and two bucks with a crossbow. All he wants to do is shoot his 22, 243 or his 20 guage. I know alot of people don't believe little kids can get it done on their own but with the right equipment and lots of practice its almost easy. He never ceases to amaze me how accurate he is with everything he shoots. I absolutly love taking both my kids. It truely is the bond that brings us closer together as a family. He killed his 2nd buck sat. which was my 38th birthday. Couldn't ask for a better present. Last yr's 5pt. Set up used for the kids. Its a Caldwell Deadshot Fieldpod. Works incredible for both the crossbow and gun. Thanks for looking guys. Roy

Sweet! We have one of those Caldwell Fieldpods and I don't know why I didn't think of letting the kids use it. I hear you on taking the kids, as I've only been once this season by myself. Had the wife and both daughters in a blind on Saturday. Full house for sure....
Bet you are nearly as proud of the boy as he is of himself! lol.....
Now with even more aplomb

Awesome! I hope I can make next year happen for my oldest. Love the pics, they are priceless.
Question about the Fieldpod. Are they able to be set up where they can move, but not so easily they can't be aimed? I think they look like the bees knees, but haven't ever seen/used one.

There is NOTHING like seeing the face of a little guy or girl after a successful hunt.
Congrats to you and your little guy. You are both lucky to have each other.

The CFP pivots in all directions and stays put when not touched. Nylon bushings and washers hold it snug but still it moves easily. I'm telling ya, if u have kids there is no better tool to use. Roy

I would like to be there when 'his' deer is served up to feed the family. There would be pride in that....

Gets no better than that! And +1 on ingwe's comment about his critter being dinner. Unfortunately too many kids (adults too) can't tell you where their dinner came from let alone take credit for providing it. Congrats again to both of you!! Nice job.

Great memories being made there.
Had my boy with me and my wife this week when we took a turkey. His first experience taking game and he loved it. Unfortunately, he is only 8 years old and the law here says no hunting game until kids are 12. He is begging me to take him to Texas where he could shoot deer.
Hoping to get him out to try shooting a coyote this Fall. I need to get him a 20 gauge for that adventure. He shoots a .410, and loves it. What 20 ga do you have for your son RTSJ?
