The cabbage MUST be sliced, not chopped (especially not in some damned machine).

Horrible rubbish. Full of sugar.

Coleslaw's easy to make. Get a cabbage, shred it with a sharp knife, and mix in your favourite dressiing. Mine's a simple vinaigrette (Dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil and cider vinegar, shake until emulsified). No need to over-complicate it.

YMMV.

Pards sister makes the oily vinegar type.

Best I have ever had and I always preferred the creamy style.

My oily is equal parts oil and sugar with half as much vinegar as each of them and celery salt run in a mini-blender for a bit.

Whatever recipe you use… take out all the sugar

Quadruple the apple cider vinegar

Add lots of horseradish

Fine cut some cabbage & a carrot or two... Stir in just enough Miracle Whip to make it almost but not quite wet... Now add equal parts of vinegar & sugar and a pinch or two of salt to taste (i start with a 1/4 cup of each for a half head of cabbage)... You can add celery seed if you like... Or a little yellow mustard for BBQ sandwich's...
