Last z71 I bought was 25 years ago. Haven't set foot on a Chevy lot since.

My boys have newer 150s one a v8 2015 and a '19 3.5l eco boost. Both ride well, very few issues, but Ford & Chevy are both using the same 10 speed trans now and some batches are having issues regardless of the badge.

Unlike other places where such a question would lead to strongly-worded expressions of complete hatred of one of the brands and condemnation of proponents of that brand as not only idiots, but also lacking in manhood, I am sure that the 'fire responses will be civil, perhaps even gracious.

Ford F-150 with the V-6 3.5 Eco Boost.
Best and smoothest riding and driving 4X4 I’ve ever owned since my 2002 F-350 4X4 with the 7.3 L Diesel.

I’ve road several miles in all of my little Brother’s new Chevy Z-71’s. No comparison.

I only own one Chevy pickup, cause I inherited it.
Dad’s old 92 Chevy 2500 3/4 ton Ranch Truck.
Has the 350 V-8 with 5 speed Manuel transmission.
Over 380,000 miles and still going. 🤪
I only keep it for “sentimental” reasons and to use around the Ranch for ranch stuff.
It’s a rough riding SOB and NOT a “comfortable” ride.

I drive a 2021 Ford F150 FX4 . Good friend of mine has a 2022 GMC Z81 . My Ford rides smoother and quieter than his GMC . This is my first Ford . I’ve always been a GMC guy. I couldn’t find a GMC without the fuel management system so I bought the Ford . So far I have been well satisfied with the truck. To me there’s no comparison in the ride especially in the back seat.

IMO they are both good vehicles. I’ve owned both. My current primary farm truck is a f150. The next one will be a f150. To me, Chevrolet rides smoother but fords are tougher and hold up better on the farm. That said, I know many farmers who only drive Chevrolet.

I've had my fill of "FoMoCo". Had a 1977 F150 that I loved. Thing developed problems that left the dealership scratching their head.
Swapped it for a 1980 Chevy Bonanza 2500 4WD w/3 speed. One tough motor scooter! The transfer case was all gear drive. 4:10 rear end w/ 9.50×16.5 tires. Wouldn't get 10 mpg if you towed it on a trailer!
The drive train was dynamite proof, but the rest of the truck was a dud!
I'll never buy another "Bow Tie".
Been running "MoPar" since 1990. Been in MoPar ever since.
3/4 ton w/4 spd - 1995
3/4 ton w/auto - 2003
1 ton dually w/Cummins and 6 spd manual - 2001 415k miles and runs great.
1/2 ton w/Eco Diesel and auto. Won't pull granny off the toilet unless she's sick....but out on the highway! Sheer comfort and an easy driver.

I know others have different experiences and opinions, but vehicle wise, we're pretty happy.

Bud bought a new Monte Carlo when they first came out. Beautiful car and Bud kept it spotless.....inside and out!
Couple of years in, it would just die.
No rhyme or reason. Interstate highway, grocery store parking lot, anytime, anywhere. It may restart immediately, or sometime tomorrow.
He took it to a dealership to trade it off. The buyer test drove the car. Bud sitting in the dealership with his fingers crossed. Deal was made.
Took his new ride in a couple months later for scheduled maintenance.
A mechanic he knew came over and asked him, "What the hell was wrong with that car?"
The dealership eventually parted out the car to get rid of it!

They're machines! Fecal matter occurs!

I don’t fit in Chevys

For a long time Chevy made the driver’s position a little smaller than ford.

Several years ago they advertised that they made it bigger. Have not bought one since then.

I would sit in both and see how they fit

I’ve ridden in both recently, but I feel like the ford is a touch smoother. It’s really close though

Don't know how relevant a 2014 is in your thought process but my F-150 4wd eco-boost is the best riding truck OR car I've ever owned. I was a little leary about the motor but it has proven itself towing a 30' 8000 lb trailer over the Sierras and the Grapevine numerous times. Only complaint I have is that the ac is marginal on 100 deg days which there are a lot in Calif.

The F150 with the coyote engine is a great truck. Not a fan of the ecoburst tho. The Chebby is nice too. I haven’t been in a brand new one for a couple years but the 6.2 engine is pretty stout too. Pick your poison.

You can insulate all of the AC lines under the hood. Once complete, I guarantee your AC will freeze you right out of the truck. A weekend afternoon is all it takes.

The more air pressure in tires, the rougher the ride,

I thought it was Fix Or Repair Daily.

I’m a chev guy. Have owned both. Both are good vehicles. Other than reading guys piss on each others boots, you won’t get much to go on with a Ford/chev question.
Drive each and decide.
