Back in the 1960 it was the Soviet Union that would end up ruling the roost, in the 1970's and 80's its was suppose to be Japan, in the 21st century its the Chinese and the Muslims. What America will be like a hundred years from now, well different in some ways as it is today vs 1913. To many ever since the founding of the Nation has predicted our demise. They have all pretty much gone by the wayside and we are still here. Heck 5 years ago I said I would never use a phone to surf the net, Now I do. I am going to turn 58 in a few weeks, I will not see 2030 let along 2112. The only thing you can expect is change, nobody knows what the change will look like just like in 1913 they had no idea what 2013 would look like. Airplanes back then could barely fly, now you can load 500+ on them and fly non stop from NY to Tokyo. It will be interesting to say the least.

Obama will be in his 26th term... Kidding... The pendulum swings. I'm hoping, for my childrens sake that it looks better than it does now. That much I pray. Yeah, true, the pendulum does swing but unfortunately, after 100 years of socialist influence and a SCOTUS that is about to be majority socialist, the pivot point of the pendulum has been shifted so far left that even when it swings back to the right next time it is going to be left of center. We lost the country by paying for people to breed and by opening our borders. It's over. It'll never be the same.
What you think about, you do ... what you do, you become. In a nation where anything goes ... eventually, everything will. We're almost there.

It may still be legal to marry a woman, but I doubt it.

Like Detroit. Dark and crumbling.
The question does require some deep thought though. Made think if the Indians ever asked each other that while sitting around in a teepee.

It still will be a thrill to be hunting when the sun comes up & nature comes alive. Being on a lake or river as the sun peaks over the horizon with fish breaking the surface will still show the glory of our creator. A new born baby will still bring joy to our hearts. Sharing a warm fire with friends & sipping fine whiskey will still be a joy. There will be one or more major wars probably starting in the Middle East. A warrior class of men (& some women) will develop whose family has a long record of serving in the military. Only a small number of Americans will own guns, hunt, & fish. America will be recovering from internal strife & civil war not seen since our Civil War. Electric power will be generated with wind, solar, & safe nuclear reactors. The average life span will be at least 150 years. Many countries will have traveled to the moon & beyond. Interplanetary space travel will exist with a new magnetic energy source & Worn Holes will become a reality. Someone will read in a book about the roaring 1980's in America & what a great place it was to live in then.

How do you envision this country in 100 years from now?
Discuss.... Gone. Gone within 50 years. A footnote in history by 100. A lot can and will happen during the next hundred years; therefore it is impossible to make anything but guesses and scenarios. Nevertheless the possibility that the USA will disappear is definitely on the cards, another is a complete overall and recovery based on sound values like those the Republic was founded on.
Is it too ambitious or too naive to look for an honest politician? Or simply a useful one?

Still the most powerful and richest nation the world has ever seen. Plenty of troublesome issues. Tons of innovation. The gold standard of medicine. More diverse population. Less outwardly religious. Still the best choice if you could choose where your kids and grandkids were born. No better gift for any child than to be born as an American. Whoa - talk about blue sky seen through rose-colored glasses... Just a WAG, but I'm thinkin' the Bible will be replaced by the Quran - and not necessarily by free will...

Who knows? I certainly don't.
If we prove ourselves to be a wise and moral people able to choose wise and moral leaders, we have a decent chance to survive, prosper, and maintain a leading position in the world. If not, we will likely end up on the scrap heap of history.
History provides the lessons.
I can't define moral, except to look toward the commonalities in the world's great philosophical and religious systems. The Ten Commandments come to mind.

first off, Brent is correct. what trees?
the USA was a product of the times in which it found itself developing inside the constraints of the larger world.
30 years is a long time to plan forward. if changes continue at the rate they have in the last five years, 30 more is about all that can be expected.
the USA is a sub-component like all other Nations on Earth. so go they, so go we as we lockstep into the future.
a new breakthrough tecnology, or disovery of vast new gold mine in the Antartica could mean a chicken in every pot far into the future. and we'll all be speaking Mandarin Chinese as a primary or secondary language.

The obomination of desolation sits at the head of the house of Israel. The country named Israel, the house of Judah, has had its last ally, the US, turn its back on Gods chosen.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time by the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If being stupid allows me to believe in Him, I'd wish to be a retard. Eisenhower and G Washington should be good company.
