A federal law-enforcement source confirmed to The Post there are at least 12 dead and nearly 50 injured. Fox News reported that Massachusetts General Hospital was treating 10 people with amputated limbs and all operating rooms were on hold.
Authorities have a identified a suspect, a Saudi national, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.
Law-enforcement sources said at least the first explosion occurred in the lobby of a nearby hotel. In that case, the profile would suggest that he's not alone. Sleeper cell.

From the looks of the photos, it doesn't look like high explosives (not that I know what I'm talking about). Wonder if it was something similar to the propane bomb discovered in Times Square a few years ago. It's called a Claymore, folks, even if homemade. If they were trying to kill hundreds, they wouldn�t have used the devices they used. These were small devices and anyone who knows anything about explosives can tell you that 8-10lbs of explosives aren�t going to kill hundreds. They don�t need to kill hundreds, look at the coverage they�re getting. This was a pretty damn successful incident.

They may have been amateurs but they had multiple devices....at least 5 of them..three went off and two others were found.One at finish line, one on front of Abe and Louies steak house on Copley,and a third at the JFK Library. My son was at the marathon;he is OK and walking out of the city.Told him do not take subways.City is on lockdown.Cell service is down.
