Hey fellas I’m looking at having an APR Maverick built and I’d like to get y’all thoughts and impressions on these rifles. Most importantly, pictures! I’d like to see some raw APR gun porn!
I’ve got a few things in mind already. I’d like 7mm-08, 6.5 PRC, or maybe 7mm WSM. I’m a guy of few rifles and I like the thought of something that covers a lot of bases. I have a .223, .30-30 and .30-06 rite now so I figure one of those I listed is the way to go but I am open to others. Would like to keep her around 7lbs or less but I’d like to hear from those who have them about how they handle.

They built me a 6.5 PRC on a Defiance action last year, took awhile but most of the wait was due to the MacMillan stock. Rifle shoots really well. I think they are a good compromise between price and quality, you can spend quite a bit more, but not necessarily get something nicer......

I have no first-hand experience with their rifles but I've visited their site a number of times to check out the ready-to-ship rifles (and guns that have sold). I had them quote a rifle for me a year or two ago and they were refreshingly responsive.
Nearly all of the more handy packages have been about 4-6oz north of 7lbs but the Maverick Light should open up a lot of possibilities for you.

I figured based on the ones I see that have sold, that a 7mm-08 with a 20'' bbl would be about rite and a 6.5 PRC with a 22'' would be a few ounces more. I’ll have to ask if the AnTi action is only about $100 up charge. That should take about 11 ounces away which may be worth a little extra coin. A 20" 7-08 sounds about perfect. Do it. Do it. Do it.

Deciding between the 6.5 PRC and 7mm-08 is becoming difficult. I like both, but can’t afford both... 7mmPRC?

7MM-08 is never not the right answer when considering a new build This from a certified 7MM-08 loony so take that for what its worth. I keep eyeballing their Apex Hunter and may go that route one day

The build process is enjoyable to me so I would prefer to think about and order my own parts. That said if you’re normal and just want a great rifle I don’t think you’ll beat that rifle at that price.

APR 6.5 PRC 🦫 That’s my kinda bench Beav And I’d kinda agree with Beav, the 6.5 PRC is sorta like the 270 of 2022. Same capacity with a little more BC. I do like a 7-08 though. Mild mannered with a heap of performance for so little powder.

I’ve got 2 Mavericks.
A 6.5cm built on a rem700. Hs presicion stock. Timney trigger. Spiral fluted xcaliber barrel. Think it was 2016’ish. Before there a bunch of lefty actions.
A 6.5 prc built on a bighorn origin. Ag composite stock. Triggertech. Spiral fluted mullerworks barrel. Had em put a radial brake on it.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another from them. Good communication.
I looked a couple weeks ago. Seems the base line maverick went up a couple $100. No surprise. Everything is more $$.

I'd sure look at these folks before I ordered a new rifle. They've been building gun parts and actions for different firearm manufacturers for years. Your rifle will shoot factory ammo less than .75 and short action less than .50 moa. https://shop.kaugerarms.com/products/sandia-lr.html
